Harmonic 313, one of the pseudonyms for music producer Mark Pritchard, has just released EP1 on Warp Records. Its a nice analog retro, yet contemporary piece of work (with heavy nods to dubstep, but with the sound of 80s video games). The EP features 6 unnamed songs (“Problem _”), whose names can be decoded using the color coded puzzle booklet that comes with the CD. Pretty fun stuff.
In addition, there is an online component. This is one of the coolest things I have seen online for a music label related item yet. The game is a sort of speak and spell game accompanied by 80s graphics and Harmonic 313 tracks, which requires the user to decode the words on screen using the color coded letters (the same as on the cd booklet). Winning the game scores you a 7th track to go with the 6 others on the EP. See the game at http://www.harmonic313.com/wordproblems/.
