…Was reminded this morning by a friend (referring to how tight a particular network was) of one of my favorite movie quotes from the 1990 film Reflecting Skin. The quote comes following a scene where the main characters (boys) inflate a frog using a straw up its bum and place it in the middle of a path while they wait in the bushes. When a woman strolls up the lane and leans over to see the highly inflated frog, the boys shoot it with a home-made blowdart — and the frog explodes in the woman’s face. Upon his returning home, one of the boys’ mothers asks him, “Have you been exploding frogs again?” This question is also sampled by Coil on the album Stolen and Contaminated Songs on the track Omlagus Garfungiloops. Incidentally, this also reminded me of an interview with Coil in which the explanation of the song Teenage Lightning was explaned as being the electricity you get when you rub two hormonally charged teenagers together…
